Day1: Arrive Lima
On arrival into Lima, we will pick you up and take you to your 4* hotel in the safe Miraflores part of the city. This is where some of Lima´s best restaurants are located.
Day 2: Lima Tour
We take you on a tour of the highlights of Lima, from its important main square to the city's mix of Pre-Inca to Colonial history. As an introduction to the food of Peru, we invite you to a buffet style lunch where you can sample some Peruvian dishes.
Day 3: Full Day Cooking
Start the morning at one of Lima´s bustling markets. Here your local chef will show you how to select the best regional produce. Continue to either a private home or restaurant for a cooking class with our expert chef. Local Lima dishes include ceviche, lomo saltado and causa. You´ll also learn how to make a pisco sour coctail.
Day 4: Cusco-Sacred Valley Tour
We take you to the airport for your short flight across the Andes to Cusco. There your private car will pick you up and take you to the beautiful Sacred Valley, at a lower elevation than Cusco and better for acclimatization. This is an agricultural area much valued by the Incas. There you will stay in the beautiful Aranwa Hotel. This hotel is noted for its Novo Andino cuisine.
Day 5: Machu Picchu
We take you in the morning for your First Class Train to Machu Picchu. There we will take you on a private tour of the Inca site, including a buffet lunch at the spectacular Sanctuary Lodge - the only hotel at Machu Picchu itself, and a great opportunity to try out some local specialities.
Day 6: Cusco Tour
We take you on a private, guided tour of the historic city of Cusco; with its blend of Inca history, colonial architecture and thriving modern art scene. Your tour includes visits to the huge Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman set in the hills above the city.
Day 7: Andean Cuisine
One reason for the richness of the cuisine in Peru is the regional variations. Today we take you on a tour of Andean food and drink, including a cooking class in Novo Andean cuisine. We start in the local market for a flavour of the varieties of foods available, where you will select your cooking ingredients. Novo Andean cuisine combines traditional dishes such as guinea pig (cuy) and alpaca, with international styles.
Day 8: Fly Home
Today we take you to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima and home.
