Day 1: Buenos Aires Tour
On arrival in Buenos Aires we will pick you up and take you to your city center hotel. In the afternoon we take you on a tour of the highlights of Buenos Aires´history and culture. In the evening you might like to try out a Tango show.
Day 2: Buenos Aires / Ushuaia
We take you to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia in the far south of Argentine Patagonia. Ushuaia is the last major town in the Americas. It is set in a beautiful location fronted by the Beagle Channel and surrounded by mountains and forests. On arrival, you will notice the feeling of being at the end of the world. Stay overnight in a cozy hotel in the Patagonian style.
Day 3: Ushuaia Tours / Patagonia Cruise
Optional tours cover the history and nature of Ushuaia. Our historical tour explores Ushuaia´s past from the first settlers to its time as a penal colonay. Our nature tour takes you to Tierra del Fuego National Park to enjoy the beauty of the forests and mountains. In the afternoon, you will be taken to the quay to board your ship for your 4 Day Patagonia Cruise.
Your craft, the M/V Stella Australis, begins by sailing through the Beagle Channel and the Magellan Strait before heading south towards the tip of South America.
Day 4: Patagonia Cruise: Cape Horn
Your first stop is to Cape Horn at the tip of South America. This historic site has been the focus for many sailors and explorers and is a beautiful and remote spot.
In the afternoon, go ashore at historic Wulaia Bay, where Charles Darwin landed on HMS Beagle, and walk through a pristine Magellanic forest to a viewpoint and spectacular scenery.
Day 5: Patagonia Cruise: Fjords and Glaciers
Your cruise will continue today through the fjords of Chile with dramatic scenery on either side. There are good chances to spot sea lions, seals, comorants and the occasional dolphin.
In the afternon, head to the Aguila Glacier. You will head ashore to enjoy a leisurely walk along a beatiful lagoon to get right up to the glacier.
Day 6: Patagonia Cruise: Magellanic Penguin Colony
Spend the morning visiting Magdalena Island and its large colony of thousands of Magellenic penguins (Oct-March). In September and April there is a visit to the sea lion colony on Marta Island. Arrive to the Chilean town of Punta Arenas where we will take you for your flight to the capital of Santiago de Chile.
There we will take you to your town center hotel.
Day 7: Santiago Wine Tour
Santiago is surrounded by some of Chile´s best wine growing areas. We take you on a full day tour through the Maipo Valley to visit two vineyards and sample the high quality Cabernet Sauvingon wine produced here. Alternatively, visit the Casablanca Valley for Chardonnay, Sauvingon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
Day 8: Santiago / Home
We take you to the airport for your flight home.
